Latest efforts to reduce single use plastic!

July was #GoPlasticFree month and I made a brave effort. Let’s face it to change everything overnight was never going to happen! But the change has started!

I have been looking at one thing at a time then researching alternatives that are plastic free.

I started with my toothbrush, which is now a bamboo variety, and have now managed to source some natural toothpaste that is packaged in a reusable glass jar with a metal lid. All the labels and delivery packaging are also plastic free!

These are plastic free products that I have switched to in an attempt to make the transition to being as plastic free as possible

The other product is deodorant that is in a tin. No ‘nasties’ included in the product or the pack.

Now I’m under no illusion that single handed I’m not making much of a dent in the oceans of plastic that are trashing the planet. It’s been interesting researching some of these products and it would be great to see them more widely available so that people have a choice, particularly when shopping in supermarkets as so many of us do. Who knows perhaps these types of products will become more acceptable to the wider population?

Is going plastic free important to you? Do you take any sort of action at present? Would you consider making changes? What would lead you to start making changes? Interested in any feedback on this.

Cheers

Tim
